Optimalisasi energi listrik oleh pembangkit listrik tenaga uap (PLTU) yang berasal dari batubara masih menjadi tantangan di Indonesia. Mode sliding pressure (tekanan geser) merupakan salah satu langkah untuk mengoperasionalkan boiler pada pembangkit listrik menjadi lebih efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui optimalisasi mode sliding pressure terhadap efisiensi boiler di PLTU X di Banten. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan data primer DCS dan data sekunder NPHR, direct, dan indirect method yang diuji pada beban 300 MW, 450 MW, 510 MW, dan 600 MW. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara grafik mode sliding pressure desain dengan simulasi menggunakan Software Gate Cycle. Simulasi Gate Cycle dinilai lebih relevan sebagai acuan operasi, dengan efisiensi boiler yang diperoleh sebesar 80%.
